Restorative Practice

At Impact Prep we use Restorative Practice as the foundation for everything we do. Restorative Practice means that we try to repair the harm we create, and we try to heal and teach instead of punish. For example, our Community Repair uses alternative consequences instead of suspensions, so that students learn from their mistakes and help make our community stronger. Our school values are based in Restorative Practice, are posted in every classroom and celebrated every day: Respect, Interconnectedness, Empowerment, and Accountability. We use these values to build a community where everyone can grow and thrive.

How we do it?

Accountability

At Impact, Accountability means taking responsibility for your actions, which affect everyone including yourself. Taking responsibility means understanding the ripple effects of your action and reparing the harm

Empowerment

At Impact, empowerment means we get to be who we want to be and ask for what we need. we empower each other to do exactly that.

Interconnectedness

At Impact, INTERCONNECTEDNESS MEANS YOU ARE A PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF. YOUR ACTIONS,POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE, AFFECT THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.

Respect

At Impact, all people deserve to be treated with kindness and fairness. This includes both our RELATIONSHIP AND OUR PHYSICAL SPACES.
